Why JESUS?
The simpliest answer would be "Why not?" HE promises eternal life after you die here on earth, in a wonderful place with no pain. HE promises that healing, joy, peace and rest and restoration. HE promises that no matter how tough life gets he will never leave you or forsake you. HE promises a pathway to a relationship with GOD your CREATORS. HE promises to send you a personal helper to help you through all your temptations and trials emotionally if you just trust HIM. HE is the best qualified for the job, HE is eternal, HE has experience being human, HE is GOD's only SON and is GOD the SON. HE didn't leave before the job was done and HE has eye witnesses that HE actually exist. HE also promises HE wouldn't give you anymore than you can take. HE promises to forgive you no matter what. HE promised to be your friend and confident. HE promises to listen even if no one else would. HE promises that HE will work all things(the good and bad) out for your good. HE promises to take care of your needs if you trust HIM. To fulfill the desires of your heart if you get to know HIM. Protection and if you chose to live to trust HIM that no weapon will prosper against you. HE promises that everything you do good and selflessly will pay off now and into eternity. HE promises to love you unconditionally. Now tell me who else offers a benefit's package like that. So again I say "Why not?"
How do I get saved?
Believe JESUS is the SON of GOD and died as a sacrifice for your sins. Ask GOD to forgive you for your sins in the name of JESUS CHRIST and ask JESUS to come into your life as your SAVIOR. John 3:16 "For GOD so loved the world, that HE gave HIS only begotten SON, that whosoever believeth in HIM should not perish, but have everlasting life." KJV Version of The BIBLE Once you've done that you are saved for eternity, you are going to heaven when you leave this earth but while you're here GOD's HOLY SPIRIT will help you go through life so you are never alone and HE always keeps HIS promises!
I'm saved, what next?
There are three things that are critical to a CHRISTian for success:
1. A BIBLE (read everyday even if it's just a verse) I prefer King James Versions but there are others***
2. Prayer (pray honestly and with respect)***
3. A good Church home (this can be a challenge to find but keep looking until you get one that uses and applies the principles of GOD, encourages you to have a personal relationship with GOD and read the BIBLE and spreads the truth that saved you to others (evangalism). *** The HOLY SPIRIT is sent to do what you can not do so rather than force change submit to change. **Simply put anything destructive in your life needs to be dealt with.** Your thinking will change on many things naturally the more you read the BIBLE, the more you get to know GOD and the more you pray and believe. **Anything you have trouble with, don't understand or struggle with ask GOD to help you through it and bring it to proper understanding. **When rough times come(and they most likely will) and doubts come(and for most they do) and you find your self struggling with sin( most people do), run to GOD not away from HIM.** HE(GOD) knew what you would do before HE saved you and HE wants to help. It takes time to grow so give yourself some time to grow just be sure you run to GOD and not away from HIM HE forgives all things if you are sincerely sorry and ask for forgiveness. HE loves you no matter. Prayer is powerful, use it as a weapon against doubt and fear. Ask others at Church and other CHRISTians to pray with you and for you** HE (GOD) will never leave you.**
